Kinship Mentor North

Be a friend. Be a mentor.

Kinship Mentor North is a new community-based mentor program that matches Cook County youth (ages 7-14) with positive, caring adult volunteers in order to nurture personal growth, develop social skills, foster success in school and build community.

Our goal is to support and inspire young people through
consistent, caring mentoring relationships
with strong adult role models
.

Family Support: What Is It?

Family Support is a 'jumping off place' for parents, grandparents, step-parents, and caregivers to get help for issues that are important to them.

Here are just a few sample issues:

  • Handling your child's anger or temper tantrums
  • Becoming a new step-parent and trying to communicate with your partner's teenager
  • Being a single parent and trying to co-parent with your "ex"
  • Concerns about depression in your teen and not sure what signs to look for
  • Feeling isolated as a parent and needing someone to talk to.
