Parenting

Parenting can be one of the most rewarding things we can do, but it can also be one of the most difficult. Each child is different, each parent is different, and children and parents continue to grow and change during their years together.

All of us, as parents, have many questions and concerns. Am I doing this right? Why is my child acting like this? What do I do now? Is it just me? Luckily, there are resources that can help answer some of these questions. These resources offer ideas and support through information and shared experience.

Our lives are busy and the world that our children are growing up in has changed. So have our ideas about parenting. We think of our parenting today as an opportunity to teach our children what they will need to know when they leave us. This means allowing children to grow as their own person, to practice the skills that are difficult, and to think for themselves -- no easy task! That's why it helps to have resources to turn to, someone or some place to ask questions and get the support and information that we need to do our work as parents.
